Creativity makes the world go around

All Case Studies > Creativity makes the world go around

There’s a common misconception floating about the fintech industry which often belies the truth of how things actually operate on the inside.

What has traditionally been perceived as a dry, highly technical and male dominated space from outside the tent is in actual fact a dynamic, creative and increasingly diverse industry for those embedded.

Sure, things have changed for the better a great deal over the past 10 years (or even the last 12 months at the rate things are accelerating with digital right now), and that’s predominantly come about through two important influencing factors.

Collaboration and ideas

From a Cloudwerx perspective, collaborating is a surefire way to generate the best ideas, and as we’ve found, the best results for our clients, partners and their customers.

We’re always seeking out new perspectives, innovative solutions and the brightest minds to stay ahead of the curve, and when we get recognised for the hard work that goes into this behind the scenes, it’s a further vote of confidence that we’re moving in the right direction.

Recognition of success

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 is a program that ranks 50 fast growing technology companies, public or private, based on revenue growth over three years. We’re so proud to have been named as one of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 winners for 2022 with peers we respect so much.

It includes all related industry sectors — communications, media, software, hardware, life sciences and healthcare, online, fintech and clean energy. So to be shortlisted and share a platform with previous winners like Afterpay, Prospa, NEXTDC, and Vinomofo is something we’re super chuffed about.

Even more pleasingly, My Plan Manager, a Cloudwerx client we’ve collaborated with to create a new client onboarding system to help connect people with NDIS suppliers was a runner up in 2020. We’re definitely in esteemed company!

Of course, when we talk about measures of success, we think about what brought us to this point and how we’re doing our best to redefine what constitutes a successful fintech company today, and well into the future.

Celebrating creativity

Attracting the best and brightest has been a big part of the equation for Cloudwerx. We’re always determined in our search outside of traditional feed-in channels to recruit a broad range of talent from all manner of professional backgrounds.

We do this because we know that creativity comes in all shapes and sizes. Artists don’t have a monopoly on creativity, and we harness that to our advantage.

In our context, creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes — and most importantly — having fun.

And as a solutions-focussed company, it’s also about being fiercely open-minded and constantly curious about problem solving.

Another strong hallmark of creativity we tend to utilise is asking questions and making connections. It’s why we place such a great value on the tech ‘hive mind’ as a means to facilitate meaningful collaboration.

That’s a perfect segue for an upcoming event on the digital/tech calendar that’s an unmissable opportunity for anyone who believes in the power of ideas.

A connected world (and you’re a part of it!)

The upcoming Salesforce World Tour event in Sydney on April 7 showcases the latest innovations to help you succeed from anywhere.

We all know that Salesforce is a great platform, but the event is a unique opportunity to meet with like-minded people who are ready to connect and share their insights in an open-source environment.

The company invests so much of its resources into product development and research and development, and ideas are at the core of this. Salesforce roadmaps and functionality revolves around creativity and connection — and the event is a living, breathing manifestation of this.

It’s sure to be a jam-packed event featuring guests like Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott and national musical icon, Bernard Fanning. Speakers from MECCA, Xero, and Salesforce round out what’s sure to be an unforgettable day.

After a couple of years of isolation from each other, we’ve never been more ready for a face to face. We’ll be there with our own stall and a few eskies packed full of ice cold Heaps Normal beer (it’s low ABV but very refreshing beer BTW), so stop in for a chat and a drink — we’d love to connect and share some ideas with you.
